One-on-One Classes

Starting any time during the year, AFNO provides individual instruction to learn French. If you need flexibility in order to accommodate a busy schedule or feel like you will benefit more from learning at your own pace, private instruction is probably the best solution for you. One-on-One classes are perfect for addressing specific needs, brush up on existing skills, prepare for a specific occasion or enjoy conversation with a French native speaker: help our teachers understand your objectives and design a personalized curriculum.

Private Lessons Advantages:

  • Lessons can take place at AFNO or in your home or office.
  • Lessons may be taken one-on-one or in groups of two or three (semi-private classes).
  • Flexible daytime and evening schedules.

French Lessons are available for adults, kids, teens and toddlers:

  • All levels of conversation, grammar, reading, writing and business French
  • Preparation for business or leisure trips to France and other francophone countries
  • Preparation for Advanced Placement test, college prep courses and Regents exams

Rates (6 lessons minimum)

  • 1 student
    • On-site: $40/hr, Off-site: $50/hr
  • 2 students
    • On-site: $30/person/hr, Off-site: $40/person/hr
  • 3 students
    • On-site: $25/person/hr, Off-site: $35/person/hr

  • Membership is required of all Alliance Française students (see our Membership page for details). Books may be needed, depending on your objectives and on teacher assessment of your needs. Please note that rates quoted above do not include books or membership.

Policies

  • Payment must be made in full at the time of registration. Private courses tuition is not refundable.
  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel a lesson, please contact the Alliance Française directly 24 hours in advance (business days only) or you will be charged for a one-hour lesson.
  • In the event of inclement weather, students should check with the tutor for potential cancellation.

Our fees are based on the number of students enrolled. If there are more than 15 students, a new class will be opened. Payment must be made before the first class of each session.
