"The story of how a child in poverty was able to realize her dreams due to her connection to the French language and culture."

Wendy is a writer, substance abuse counselor, and teacher who has taught students of all ages. She especially loves working with young students and encouraging them to embrace and enjoy reading and learning. Wendy considers herself to be a lifelong learner.

Wendy has a Master of Arts degree in adult education and development (National-Louis University) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French (Dillard University). She is fluent in French and Spanish and uses her language skills in a myriad of ways to help others. Wendy has lived in several states and two countries (Spain and Italy).

Wendy is a Christian and is committed to inspiring hope in others and using her experience to be a catalyst for positive change in this world. Her faith helped her to navigate the many landmines that she experienced while growing up in the now-defunct Florida Housing Projects.

Wendy is committed to investing in the lives of others. She prays that her book will inspire others to have contagious hope that inspires others to persevere even during difficult circumstances.
