 Meet the authors

Barry Jean Ancelet

Barry Jean Ancelet is Professor Emeritus of Francophone Studies and Center for Louisiana Studies Research Fellow at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is part of the research team that produced the Dictionary of Louisiana French as Spoken in Cajun, Creole, and American Indian Communities (2009). In 2016, he published Jean-le-Chasseur et ses chiens, a French story set in Louisiana, among other publications for youth.

Wilfred Lupano

Get your copy of "Le Loup en slip" signed from 4:30 to 5:30 Saturday!

Wilfrid Lupano is an author-screenwriter of comics for adults and French children's books. He is very popular for his series "Les Vieux Fourneaux", with illustrator, Paul Cauuet. A story that mixes humor, tenderness, nostalgia, social issues (work, ecology, politics,) and a certain vision of the current world. In 2019, he continued the adventures of "Loup en Slip" with Mayana Itoïz, a series for children, derived from the universe of "Vieux Fourneaux", the first volume of which was published in 2016. Strong and glaringly topical social themes, dear to the author, are approached from a child's perspective.

This festival is made possible thanks to the generous support of the French Institute of the United States / Villa Albertine and in collaboration with the Villa Albertine in New Orleans.

In partnership with New Orleans French Immersion Schools, the Alliance Française will host field trips on Thursday, November 3 and Friday, November 4.

My French Book Fest is part of a 2022-2023 children's literature season, an initiative of the Consulate General of France in Louisiana / Villa Albertine. This season provides other highlights, such as professional development for local French teachers, writing competitions open to schools, and the creation of educational material available to French teachers in Louisiana.
