Anne Paceo

Anne Paceo is a fertile leader and composer who has created a singular style, identifiable from the first few notes. Her nomination to the order of « Chevaliers des Arts et des Lettres » in 2021, her 3 Victoires de la musique (Grammys’ equivalent) and her prolix discography are proof of this.

With ten albums to her credit, Anne Paceo plays with codes and styles, making it a point of honor to break down borders and seek out very particular alchemies between the musicians who make up her groups.

Anne spent the first three years of her life in Daloa, Ivory Coast, lulled by the sound of percussionists rehearsing next to the family home. At the age of 10, she discovered the drums which became her refuge.

First spotted as a side woman, she has been playing and recording since she was 19 years old with some of the greatest names of the French and international music scene: Archie Shepp, Michael League, Rhoda Scott, Rick Margitza, Eric Bibb, Marcel Azzola, Henri Texier, Andy Sheppard, Alain Jean-Marie, Leyla McCalla, Philippe Catherine, and China Moses… just to name a few.

Accompanying Performers:

New Jersey-born, New Orleans-based artist Sari Jordan, vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, will take the lead on vocals. Beirut-born American guitarist Raja Kassis, well-known in the New York music scene, will be featured on guitar. Amina Scott, a talented bassist and composer who serves on the faculty at Loyola University New Orleans, will perform on bass. Grammy-winning artist Miles Lyons will perform on trombone. David McKissick, a Sacramento native and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, and composer, will perform on trumpet.
