Our French for Adults program is designed to help you build real-world language skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. Classes are led by experienced, native or fluent instructors who bring the language to life through conversation, cultural insights, and practical application.

Whether you're learning French for travel, career advancement, personal enrichment, or reconnecting with your heritage, we offer flexible options to fit your lifestyle — including in-person and online classes, intensive or leisurely-paced sessions, and targeted workshops to refine specific skills.

Our class levels.

The Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages to measure language proficiency.

0-120 hours

Discover the basics of French! Choose this level if you're a beginner.

120-240 hours

Learn how to communicate and exchange on familiar subjects.

240-360 hours

You will be able to interact with ease on familiar topics with native speakers.

360-480 hours

You will communicate with a high degree of spontaneity.

480-600 hours

You will express yourself fluently  spontaneously in all situations.

In Person.

Types of classes.

Full Course

Our full courses span 10 weeks and include 25 to 30 hours of immersive French learning, offering a structured path to real progress.

Partial Course

Our partial courses span 5 to 10 weeks and include 7.5 to 15 hours of instruction, offering a flexible path to steady progress.

Specialized

Our themed and skill-based courses span 5 to 10 weeks and include 7.5 to 15 hours of instruction, offering targeted learning for A2 and C1 levels.
