The French Ship on Chewbacchus: 2nd meeting

It's Time to Board The French Ship!

Ready to take la Francophonie beyond Louisiana… and into space? 🌌 The French Ship: la Francophonie dans l'espace is a sub-krewe of the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, bringing together French speakers, French learners, Francophiles, and Francophone communities for one of New Orleans' most creative Carnival traditions.

The mission is simple: celebrate the French language and the incredible diversity of Francophone cultures — with a distinctly New Orleans sci-fi twist! The French Ship is open to everyone: you don't need to be fluent in French to climb aboard. Come with your French, your Louisiana heritage language, your creativity, or simply your love of Francophone cultures. Together, we'll bring French into the streets of New Orleans with costumes and throws inspired by la Francophonie — parading through the galaxy with Chewbacchus on January 16, 2027 (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM).

A huge merci to our intergalactic captains, Jimmy Maillard and Germain Gendron, leading this Francophone adventure across the galaxy!
