Did you know one of the most accomplished Black American composers of the 19th century was from New Orleans? Meet Edmond Dédé (1827–1901), trained in Paris and celebrated in Bordeaux. His long-lost opera Morgiane premiered in 2025. Filmmaker Marguerite de Bourgoing explores his transatlantic life and legacy, joined by scholar Sultana Isham for a conversation on his rediscovery today. In partnership with New Orleans 29th French Film Festival & Villa Albertine.
