By donating to the Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans, the premiere French and Francophone Cultural Center in the Greater New Orleans area, you are ensuring that our cultural programs and French courses for all ages and levels not only continue, but flourish.

AFNO is a well-known leader in French language instruction for all ages. For 40 years, AFNO has provided outstanding adult courses in French language and culture, including French for business and travel, French slang, and French poetry, art, literature, philosophy and film, as well as Louisiana Creole offerings. AFNO also offers unique opportunities to children and teens by partnering with local schools to bring French language and activities outside the confines of the classroom walls.

 AFNO hosts a broad range of cultural events, from the purely entertaining to the highly academic. In 2023 AFNO hosted over 100 cultural events, with 5,000 attendees. Among those event sinclude the film premier of Louisiana-made documentary "The Precipice," Bastille Day Fête with live music and games, plus award winning French author Nicholas Mathieu.  

In 2024, AFNO is gearing up for an enriching year filled with vibrant cultural events and community activities, welcoming international Francophone guests, honoring our esteemed founders, celebrating our 40th anniversary, and introducing a range of free, inclusive activities for all ages. AFNO will continue fostering a year of cultural richness and community engagement, with a special focus on diversity and inclusion, celebrating Louisiana heritage languages and contributions of minorities in Louisiana, including Black Masking Indians, First Nations, Louisiana French speakers, and Louisiana Creole speakers, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and represented in our programs and events.

As a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Preservation & Renovations sponsorships

In 2024, AFNO is seeking support for building preservation and renovation efforts. Our historic building in Uptown New Orleans hosts French classes, cultural workshops, community events, and more, including the largest French-language library in New Orleans and a gallery space with rotating exhibits. Your generous donation will be recognized on our website, in print materials, and in other chosen formats, such as donor recognition plaques and room naming rights for renovated building spaces.
